I have my one and only final tomorrow. Stats. Funny how I could care less about it. meh.

Amy just found out that she got a job today working at the university for the summer - just like me :) Yay, I'm happy that I'm going to have someone around to hang out with in the summer so I won't be so damn lonely. Plus, I won't have to be alone with the two subletters, in case shit begins to hit the fan as it usually does when 4 girls live together in close quarters.

I currently have 12.96$ in the bank right now, and am not ashamed to admit it. I am broke. Thankfully I'm getting my income tax back soon, I'd be screwed without it. I'm therefore trying to figure out what to ask my parents for for my 21st birthday in June. The options are currently:

1.) One-week trip to Ireland to visit MC while she's working and living there this summer.
2.) A big screen TV
3.) Straight up cash, yo
4.) A variety of smaller things

What do you think?

Listening to: Walk On the Ocean - John Mayer and some other dude. Lyrics are awesome, here's a snippet:

now we're back at the homestead
where the air makes you choke
and people don't know you
and trust is a joke
we don't even have pictures
just memories to hold
that grow sweeter each season
as we slowly grow old

walk on the ocean
step on the stones
flesh becomes water
wood becomes bone

BYE BYE BRUINS and hellooooooooooo Tampa!!!! Zednik, you are my hero - Theodore too. My muscles are still all knotted from the tension of watching that game, scorless for 2 1/2 periods - whew!!! I honestly don't know if I can handle another series like this one. First time in Habs history that we've come back from being down 3-1 in a playoff. That's a pretty impressive statement in face of the history of our franchise. I'm not as much expecting a win versus Tampa, I'm thankful that we got this far and know not to ask too much. But still... YAY!!!!

Going to look into buying myself a little second hand car for the summer, maybe a Jeep. Maybe I should buy one in Ontario and skip on same of the Queerbec sales tax. Boo-urns for taxes.

Not looking forward to starting to study for stats.. blech, I have almost zero motivation. I'm already in summer-mode, and that's not good. Maybe I'll begin getting myself organized, getting the notes ready, and all that stuff tomorrow afternoon.

Stats = bad -- Habs = GREAT
That's the take home lesson of the day, folks :D

wow.

So I'm putzing around the McGill Psychology Department's website and found something that pretty much took my breath away. The Masters PhD program that I was interested in applying to, Behavioural Neuroscience, offers a 17,000$ scholarship to those who are accepted. HOLY FUCKING CHRIST. I couldn't believe that... it would be a dream come true. I'm happy I found this out and simultaneously more nervous, because it puts more pressure on me now. I really want into that damn program.

On a different note: YAY HABS!!! Game 7 here we come.

There are no words to articulate this feeling of pure anger and disbelief.

Kovalev, you fucking pussy - I'm personally coming after your ass.

For those of you who do not watch hockey and have no idea what I'm talking about, let me give you the ever depressing run down.

So, it's the Canadiens vs. the Bruins in Montreal. We've (Canadiens) have just come off a great win in the previous game, we're at home, we're kicking butt until 15 minutes in the 3rd period: the score is tied. We go into over time. Doing well, putting a lot of pressure, making me bite what's left of my nails down to the quick. This is where is the biggest fuck up of the series occurs:

this one Bruins player get out of the penalty box, skates right over to Kovalev, and (accidentally or purposefully, it doesn't matter) slashes Kovalev's wrist with his stick. Kovalev, who had the puck at this point, pretty much stops skating and just glides aimlessly around looking at his wrist. He's so busy fussy over himself that he collides with a fellow Canadiens player, who accidentally sends the puck towards our goal. A Bruins player picks up the puck on a break away and scores, ending a 40 minute over time period and absolutely crushing me.

This sucks.

I leave for home for 3 weeks on Monday. I can't wait. Sit outside on the deck, in the sun, do some light work. It's very nice to only have one final, compared to the 5 last year it's a damn god-send!

I met with Dr. Teather to discuss the term of my summer research position in her lab. I get to make my own hours and schedule. Basically, I can stroll in around noon, do a few hours of work, and then go home again. heh. YAY for not getting up at 6 am every day again. Granted I'll have a certain amount of work to get done, but I do it at my own pace. It's going to be interesting to adjust to a schedule as loose as this, but it's going to make the summer in Waterloo that much more bearable.

I'm going to look into taking a bartending class in aims of getting a part-time bartending job for thursday, friday, and saturday nights. It's something I've wanted to do for a while, it'll help money wise (good tips :P) and help to pass the time since I'll be here all alone most of the time. I'm also going to join the all-women's fitness center down the street. I've been wanting to take some aerobics classes lately, to get some good exercise in and tone up a little bit. I'm looking forward to it.

yay! Jack Johnson on SNL!
