This is definitely one of the weirdest 24 hours weather-wise I've ever experienced. Last night we had a thunder and lightning storm - in mid-November. This is the Great Tundra of the North, I remind you, and that is far from usual.
Then the winds began to pick up... and pick up some more. I barely slept through the night because the wind was so strong. Since my closet is in the corner with 2 outside walls, I thought the walls were going to blow off and the wind would take all my clothes away.
This morning there's a good 4 inches of snow and slush, and it's still gusting really strongly. Damn I hate Canada sometimes.

I can't wait for Christmas vacation, I need a nice long break in which to do absolutely JACK SHIT. I'm so busy that every waking minute is filled with some sort of school oriented activity. I can't imagine what it's going to be like next semester, with the Research Assistant position ontop of everything. I'm very much looking forward to it, but it's also going to be another thing I have to juggle.

I also have a little party that Amy and I are organizing on the last day of classes. I hope it goes well, and I hope our roommates enjoy the noise :P It's about time they get a little taste of their own medicine, if you'll excuse the cliche.

Just got back from The Matrix Revolutions. I enjoyed it, however I didn't feel that there was enough closure at the end - some, but not as much as I was expecting. Terrific movie, nevertheless.

The continuous onslaught that is school continues. Since the first week of October it's been non-stop work. Every week I have something important due, it's insane. It never ends. A bitch of a TA in one of my classes decided it would be fun to rip apart one of my papers; to know that the 74 that I got was the 4th highest mark is more than slightly depressing. She wrote a novel on the damn thing, in fluorescent pink ink. I can't even describe the horror.

It's freezing out tonight, it has been snowing lightly on-and-off. Fuck winter. I'm going to hop in bed with my book (the new Stephen King - see the Dark Tower website) and get nice and cozy. It weighs a thousand pounds, so it's bound to keep me warm. It makes me cry and laugh every time I read it, so it's more than worth it. I look forward to reading it, and I love that feeling.

The ecstasy of pure recognition.

The John Mayer concert was beyond words. He is by far, by leaps and bounds, my favorite musician - and with reason. The connection I have with his music is difficult to put into words, and I'm aware a lot of it is stereotypical. As a friend of mine put it, it's guitar-based storytelling sentimental music. I deeply relate to what he has to say, and his lyrics touch me. Plus, John himself is incredibly funny - I love the way he chats to the audience between songs.

At one point there was this wise-ass who decided it was funny to flash a lazer pointer around at John and the band. John responded with "oh cool, it's Crazy Lazer Pointer Guy! Wait... is my watch broken? I wasn't aware we were still in 1998". He makes me laugh, he's witty, and incredibly handsome - that's also slightly part of his appeal. But only slightly :P

I took about 15 pictures and bought a T-shirt with John Mayer written across the chest. He pretty much played all of my favorite songs, with the exception of a few. We had great seats, and even the opening act was good. Overall, FANTASTIC night. I am a little sad that it's over, but there will definitely be more John Mayer concerts in the future.

As for now, I'm off to shoot rats up with morphine for my Research in Biopsych class.

After that, I'll be starting in on the new Stephen King book: Wolves of the Calla: The Dark Tower V. I can't wait.

Kill Bill = awesome

John Mayer concert tomorrow.

There are no words to describe the joy. I've been looking forward to this for a very long time. I've got all the songs memorized and I'm ready to go. I really hope I don't melt down into a screaming, crying fan - but I can make no promises on that account. When it comes to my Johnny Boy, I just can't seem to control myself.

I finished writing essay # 4 today. I have 10 essays/papers due this semester - it blows beyond description. 4 down, 6 to go.

Somebody kill me please (insert Adam Sandler song).

So it begins.

November 1st, it's ridiculous how fast time flies. I know it's a cliche, but a cliche is a cliche because it's true. It seems like my life really started to pass me by in sec 4 (grade 10 for you non-Quebecers out there). So much has happened since then to shape me into the neurotic psych student that I currently am, but I still can't believe I find myself in 3rd year of a 4 year undergraduate program.

I finished the latest Anne Rice novel last night; entitled Blood Canticle. Lestat, the vampire that many of us have come to love, appeared and took the limelight as first person narrative for the last time. This book marked the last of the Vampire Chronicles and the Mayfair Witches saga. Stan Rice, Anne's husband, died in 2002 - he was the inspiration for Lestat, so I think this probably played some sort of role in terminating the series.

It really struck me that a large part of my life had passed when I finished the book. I devoured all the Vampire Chronicles and Mayfair books as a teenager, and it really hits home to realize that I will never read about them again. You become so attached to characters that it becomes hard to let go - maybe it's just me.

On a similar note, Halloween was fun last night. Rez people had a little party, it was enjoyable. Some days I miss them, most days I don't. But it was nice to hang out and shoot the shit, that's mainly what I miss. Plus, who doesn't love getting stuck with the nick name "Devil Horns"?

I'm off to see Kill Bill with some friends at 9, I'm excited. Quentin Tarrentino (spelling) always delivers, so it should be good.
